Book Clubs (NAWBO Members Only)
E-myth Book Clubs
This is a time for all of us to be thinking about running our companies at top performance. The E-myth book clubs offer you the opportunity to think about how your business is doing and things you might do to improve not only for your bottom line but for your ease and confidence in running your business.
There are two book clubs to choose from. Each will meet once a month February to May. You will want to sign up for one but if you have to miss you can sit in on the other. Jess McLamb will facilitate the lunch club and Sue Weems will facilitate the evening one. Jess and Sue will follow a similar plan for the discussions so you can attend a “make up class” if you need to.
- Evening meeting: 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm the third Wednesday of each month at Sue’s home in the Crabtree area. Wine optional but included!
New Twist to Our Book Club!
Because we want to be innovative and sensitive to your needs, we are offering a new twist to our book clubs. Our lunch book club for E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber will be offered as a Virtual Book Club! We will “meet” via phone (or at Jess McLamb’s office at Quail Corners Commons in north Raleigh if you prefer) beginning this Thursday, February 26th from noon to 1:30. Subsequent meetings will be March 26, April 23, and May 21. We will set up a bridge line for you to call in whether you are in your office or on the road.
The reading schedule is:
- Feb 26 - get the book and read through Chapter 2 if possible
- March 26 - Chapter 3 through Chapter 9
- April 23 - Chapter 10 through Chapter 15
- May 21 - Chapter 16 through End of the Book
Here is the discussion approach:
- Identify the important points of the chapters for this session to get a general group consensus about the content.
- Discuss how real issues in the members’ businesses relate to the chapters being discussed.
- Discuss changes that members might make in their businesses based on the chapters’ content.
We have books available if you need to buy one. Please call Jess McLamb at 919-873-1688 or 919-271-0563 (c) if you want to participate.
Call or email Sue 919-349-3447 or sueweems@venturemanagementinc.com for directions and to reserve a place in one of these groups!
